
Anthony David Gonzalez was born on February 27, 1976 in Torrance, California. He was raised in Southern California and was a student at Huntington Beach High School where He was a leading player on both the basketball and football teams. Gonzalez was a star in both games at the University of California. He played with the football team in the 1996 Aloha Bowl. Here, Gonzalez tied the record for school bowls with nine receptions. Gonzalez played with the basketball team to the Sweet 16 of NCAA basketball tournament in just a few months following. He then left school to participate in the 1997 NFL Draft. Gonzalez was picked as the 13th overall pick by the Kansas City Chiefs. Gonzalez was in the Chiefs between 1997 and 2008. The Chiefs traded Gonzalez to the Atlanta Falcons. He never caught fewer than 59 passes during Gonzalez's second NFL season.
